The name
MVAS stands for the German “Merkblatt über Rahmenbedingungen für erforderliche Fachkenntnisse zur Verkehrssicherung von Arbeitsstellen an Straßen”, a guidance note on the expertise required for traffic safety at road works. 99 refers to the 1999 edition.
